The Story

Dear Friends,
I am often asked how this
awesome adventure all began. After
studying art for most my life, I
prayed for an opportunity to share
my talents with others and in doing
so, be able to make a financial
contribution to my growing family.

    When Dryden, my first born,
began to grow, I would stick his little
hands and feet into paint and stamp
them on anything I could find. This
wasn't good enough. It was like, and
still is, cloud gazing for me. I saw
the hand and feet prints becoming
other objects in my mind. Grabbing
an abundance of art supplies, I added
embellishments to his messy little
prints, and the transformations began.

It was like, and still is, cloud gazing for me. I saw the hand and feet prints becoming other objects in my mind. Grabbing an abundance of art supplies, I added embellishments to his messy little prints, and the transformations began.
It wasn't until my friends took notice, that I realized this precious art, was about to open so many doors for me. My friend Tonya was, and still is, one of my biggest fan. She wanted every new print I did for my son for her son, Sam. When I completed pieces for her, she would rant and rave and insist on getting them matted and framed for Sam's wall. After, framing a dozen or so, she had complied a list of gawkers (from friends to strangers in the framing store) who wanted me to do their children's prints.

The first official home party was the most spontaneous thing I have ever done.  I was headed to Tonya's house to print Sam for the latest Valentines Day design.  That day, she called everyone on her "gawker" list and most of them said they would be at her house and awaiting my arrival.  I made sure I had plenty of supplies and threw together some order forms with my newly created Piggies and Paws logo.  When I arrived at Tonya's house, there were 12 moms with their children in tow.  Their response floored me.  There were only 12 designs at the time and they ordered like crazy.  One woman thought it was a national company and asked who she could contact to have a party for her and her friends.  I was happy to oblige her which meant the Piggies&Paws ball was in motion.  Every subsequent party meant even more parties, more work and more designs. As a result, the company has aquired rights to over 200 designs.

The buiser I became, the more I needed help.  I obtained a copyright and patent attorney who, immediately saw the business potential and helped protect what I had started.  From this point, I was able to train and contract my first independent artist, Jennifer Henley. I'll never forgot her desire to learn my designs and the commitment and loyalty she has showed to Piggies&Paws since she first approached me about becoming an artist.  She is now my operations manager out of Mesa, AZ and handles many crucial aspects of the company.

We are now training and contracting artists all over the United States who are doing  Piggies and Paws  parties in their towns.  It is amazing to me when considering how it all began.  This story, my story, is true testimony that prayers do get answered.  I am thankful everyday.
